ABOUT ME
Welcome to my page. Heres my story; my why and how I came to love photography. I started my venture into the art of photography at the age of 5. My parents were avid photographers and we would spend weekends in the beautiful Black Hills driving through Spearfish Canyon and capturing all the beauty we could. My parents were college students at Black Hills State and my Dad was taking one of his many college photography classes. My first camera was a pinhole camera made from a Quaker Oats container. After the pictures were taken it was strait to the darkroom in our basement to develope them.
My Dad would eventually come to teach college photography classes as well as taking pictures for the Pioneer Times. He won awards for his works of art. Though he is now retired, photography remains a passion for him.
As I grew up, I continued to love photography and photographing anything and everything. There is not a stage of my life that is missing a snap shot or 2..... each photo places clarity in my mind and reminds me of who I am as well as proving to be a testimony to my kids and grandkids. Each one will vouch for the insurmountable numbers of pictures in existence documenting every last moment. Every holiday or occasion. I've come along ways from my pinhole Quaker Oats camera. I upgraded along the way to a Barbie camera, a point and shoot canon, an old school SLR Kodak, and now my Canon rebel which is glued to me, for fear of missing a moment. I purchased cameras for 2 of my granddaughters at the age of 5; I figured they needed to get started. My husband and I enjoy taking drives through the beautiful black hills where we have made our home. My me time consists of relaxing, waiting and watching for the wildlife to peacefully wander by, or at times I enjoy waiting for the sun to set so I can view Gods artwork in the beauty of a sunset or sunrise. I love photography and for me it is not about the sale, it's about a God given gift I possess and sharing what I love with others. Thanks for checking out my photos.
